Ordering single vision distance glasses through Zenni is easy!
Once you have selected a frame, click “Order Glasses”, and follow the steps below:
- First, indicate that you would like glasses with one field of vision by selecting “Single Vision” from the Prescription Type drop-down menu.
- Next, our order form will ask you to enter a Single PD (pupillary distance) or Dual PD. If your PD is not written on your prescription, you can contact your eye care professional to ask for it, or you may click here to learn how to measure it. You will need it to order prescription glasses. If you are not sure whether to select Single or Dual, we can help you with that too. Just click here.
- The last step will be to enter your distance prescription. Most prescriptions are considered single vision distance prescriptions unless your doctor noted that it is a prescription for reading or computer glasses. You will transfer the SPH, CYL and Axis values you see on your prescription into the fields that have the same names on our order page. See the highlighted areas in the graphic below. Pay special attention to the plus or minus signs in front of the SPH and CYL values and be sure to select the correct sign.
Prism Values: Although this is not very common, you may see prism values on your prescription. It corrects double vision. A prism correction on your Rx may be indicated with Δ, and one of these four abbreviations: BD, BI, BO, BU. The B stands for base, and the second letter stands for the direction; it could be base down (BD), base in (BI), base out (BO), or base up (BU). If you see prism correction on your prescription, click here for help with that part of your prescription.
You may also see ADD on your prescription, but that value is not needed when ordering distance glasses (it is needed when ordering reading glasses), so you may disregard it.
You should now be ready to move on to choosing your lenses!
