Sometimes people can get confused by the terms “photochromic” and “polarized”.
Here is the definition of Photochromic:
Photochromic lenses are specially treated to turn dark when exposed to Ultra Violet (UV) light. Sometimes they are alternatively referred to as “auto-tinting” lenses because they automatically turn dark when they are in the sunlight.
Here is the definition of Polarized:
Polarized lenses are permanently tinted sunglasses that are especially effective in reducing glare from light that is polarized horizontally, which is where most of the glare we experience comes from.
At Zenni, photochromic and polarized are mutually exclusive categories. Our photochromic lenses are not polarized, and our polarized lenses are not photochromic.
